Not Therapy. Just Real Connection. Tired of all the roles and masks you have to wear in everyday life? Always holding it together, saying the right thing, staying on script? What if — just for a moment — you didn’t have to? What if there were a space where you could simply be — with no pressure to perform, no need to fix or impress — just express yourself, if you want, exactly as you are? That’s what you’ll find in an Encounter Group: a space to slow down, show up honestly, and connect deeply with others who are ready to do the same. You might come out of curiosity — but you may leave feeling seen, lighter, and more in touch with yourself and the people around you. What’s an Encounter Group? At its core, an Encounter Group is a space to learn through experience : to become more aware of how you relate to yourself, to others, and to the world around you . Not through lectures or techniques, but through the simple, powerful act of being together and truly encountering one another - and hopefully sharing a laugh or two along the way. One of the most important things about these groups is freedom . There’s no set topic, no pre-planned structure, and no pressure to go deeper than you feel ready for. The group decides together what to talk about, what to explore, and how far to go. A trained facilitator is present to support the process and help create a safe space , but it’s the group itself that decides its direction. The facilitator doesn’t lead or direct and you’re always free to choose how much you want to share… or to simply listen and take part quietly, if that’s what feels right for you. If you’re curious about how you relate to yourself and others - and how others relate to one another - this might be the experience you’re looking for. Why try it? People join Encounter Groups to: Feel more connected — to themselves and others Better understand themselves and others Build confidence and self-awareness Experience real support and authentic human connection Is this therapy? Do I need to have a problem? Nope. This isn’t therapy, and you don’t need to be in crisis to join. It’s for anyone curious about growing through connection, no background or experience required. Why a tryout session? A full Encounter Group cycle runs for six months, with two sessions a month. But before jumping in, you can join a discounted one-off tryout . It’s a full experience in one day, same setting, same style, just no long-term commitment and discounted price. Some basic ground rules: Confidentiality : What’s shared in the group stays in the group. No acting out : All feelings are welcome — but must be expressed in words, not actions. Physical contact only with clear consent. Facilitated by Giulio Ammannato Giulio is a psychologist and therapist trained in the Person-Centered Approach. He’s also on the staff of the IACP in Italy, an institute founded in part by Carl Rogers , the very person behind Encounter Groups. Curious about Encounter Groups? Come try one out. “ What draws people to encounter groups? ... It’s a hunger for relationships that are close and real. ” Carl Rogers
